Fillings

At , we only uses composite resin – a tooth-coloured filling – for restorations. Composite resin is strong, durable and offers many advantages such as:

  •  More natural-looking aesthetics.
  • Preservation of a more natural tooth structure.
  • Reduced marginal leakage of filling.
  • Minimal risk of allergic reaction.
  •  No development of metal sensitivity.

Amalgam fillings

Older style “silver” amalgam fillings consist of mercury, which is a harmful heavy metal. Many reputable sources in medical science are concerned that such fillings may release mercury into the body many years after their placement. The possible side effects are not yet known or proven, however, we recommend replacing your amalgam fillings with composite resin which is known to be safe.
